JOSH MARINO
Attorney
Joseph B. Marino, III (Josh) is a partner at JJC Law LLC where he focuses on maritime law, catastrophic injury, and insurance litigation. He graduated from Ole Miss in 2001 with a B.B.A. in Banking and Finance. Josh received his law degree from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2005. Following law school graduation, Josh served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Richard T. Haik of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. Following his federal clerkship, Josh moved to Austin, Texas where he served as a law clerk for Justice David Medina of the Supreme Court of Texas. Upon completing his Texas Supreme Court clerkship, Josh returned to New Orleans in 2007 where he began practicing maritime law and catastrophic personal injury litigation at a prominent New Orleans defense firm. Josh represented companies and insurers in numerous Jones Act, maritime personal injury, and land-based catastrophic injury disputes for over ten years until he decided to make a change in 2017. That year, Josh decided to shift his focus exclusively to representing victims of catastrophic injuries in the maritime environment and on land. Josh’s significant experience adds great depth, horsepower, and invaluable experience to our team of experienced trial attorneys. He is dedicated to assisting clients through their difficult journey. Josh has received an AV “Preeminent” attorney peer-review rating by Martindale Hubbel and is Louisiana Super Lawyer. Attorneys rated AV Preeminent® are an elite group of attorneys who have been rated highly by their peers as having Very High Ethical Standards and an A grade. Super Lawyers® is a patented attorney selection process that is peer influenced and research driven, selecting the top 5% of attorneys.
In his spare time, Josh enjoys coaching youth sports, especially his daughter’s cabbage ball teams. Josh also enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Amanda, and their daughter, Cecile. Josh is an avid fan of the Saints and LSU and he enjoys live music and attending New Orleans’ abundant festivals.
“I left a world of defending companies for a simple reason – I want to make a positive impact in individuals’ lives. Incidents involving catastrophic injuries can be very complex, and injuries in the maritime or land-based industries can be severe. Maritime and industrial workers serve an important role in our communities and our country. I truly enjoy helping victims of catastrophic injuries navigate what is a difficult journey once an injury or accident occurs. Every day I look forward to helping people keep their lives together.”
